Welcome to the new Seymour Community Program Directory. Thanks for joining us! As with any new project it's possible that we only got it 99% right. If you have any suggestions, or see any information that needs updating, please contact us.

About Us

Stephanie Georgopoulos (FamilyCare)

We’re on a mission to empower the Seymour community through our comprehensive program directory.

Below is a profile of one of the fantastic organisations or individuals committed to helping support the Seymour community!

Q1. Which program/s are you involved in, and what do they aim to do for the community?

I am a Child and Family Practitioner at FamilyCare in Wallan. FamilyCare offers a range of services to families, children, and young people in regional Victoria. We offer family services, carer, and disability support services as well as support groups within the community.

One of those programs I co-facilitate is Baby College. In 2023, we introduced the Baby College pilot program in Seymour, partnering with Our Place, Kids First and Mitchell Shire Council. The success of the program has been incredible, offering greater support to parents and children throughout the Mitchell Shire Council. Baby College is open to all parents in their third trimester of pregnancy or with babies up to 6 months of age. The program provides an opportunity for parents to connect with each other and their babies, while discussing topics related to pre and postnatal stages.

Q2. How did you become interested in Community Programs? What were you doing before this?

Prior to facilitating Baby College, my role at FamilyCare was a case worker in our Integrated Family Services program. I have been at FamilyCare for over 7 years and since returning from a year of parental leave, I was open to trying something new and focusing on group facilitation. I was looking forward to focusing on groups for parents and babies from 0 – 12 months old.

Q3. How do you think a Community Program Directory makes a difference for people in Seymour?
The Seymour Community Program Directory will be a practical access point for people to find the appropriate programs within their local community that matches their needs. A directory set up in this way, helps those find the support they need without having to call around trying to find out about different programs. It is a great tool for both the community but also for workers to see what other programs can support their clients.
