    Eligibility

For learner drivers aged 16-21 (or in some cases up to 23) who hold a current learner permit, have no access to a car or a supervising driver, and live in the Hume region (Greater Shepparton and Shires of Strathbogie, Moira and Mitchell).

Overview

Many young people in our community need help to get the driving experience they need for their probationary licence.
The TAC L2P program matches young learners aged 16 to 21 years old with a fully-licensed volunteer driver and practice car to help them gain driving experience.
The program is managed by the Department of Transport. Berry Street and other community organisations deliver the program across Victoria.
The program:
– helps disadvantaged young people get the support they need to get their probationary licence, including 120 hours of driving experience required
– helps younger drivers develop road safety awareness and skills
– trains volunteers from the community to develop a positive mentoring relationship with young learner drivers
– encourages social connectedness within the local community.
Become a mentor
We have learner drivers ready to be matched with a volunteer mentor in the Hume region (Greater Shepparton and Shires of Strathbogie, Moira and Mitchell).
