Kyle Medley (Skills & Jobs Centres)
Q1. Which program/s are you involved in, and what do they aim to do for the community?
I am a Career Advisor with the Skills & Jobs Centre in Seymour, located at the Seymour GOTAFE Campus. The Skills & Jobs Centre aims to empower individuals by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to succeed in the job market, thereby contributing to the economic growth and well-being in the community.
Q2. How did you become interested in Community Programs? What were you doing before this?
My interest in Community Programs began when I started working for a non-profit organisation that focused on the equality of employment for people living with a disability. Witnessing firsthand the positive impact these programs had on individuals and the broader community was incredibly inspiring. Before my roll with the Skills & Jobs Centre, I was a Team Leader and Workplace Support Consultant in the Disability Employment Sector.
Q3. How do you think a Community Program Directory makes a difference for people in Seymour?
The Seymour Community Program Directory will centralise information about various programs in the community which will make finding local services easier to access. The directory serves a vital tool that enhances the accessibility, awareness and coordination of community resources that will contribute to the overall well-being and cohesion of the community. This is exactly what the people in Seymour need.
